Did the Swedish Jarmann rifles only have the socket type of bayonet? Or did they also have a knife/sword type of bayonet?

Trond

Sweden produced 1500 of the M1881 Jarmann socket bayonet, but there was also produced 100 prototype sword bayonets (very much like the Norwegian M1860) in 1884, 50 for Sweden and 50 for Norway.

Thank you very much Trond.

Here's a picture of the Norwegian/Swedish Jarmann prototype bayonet for testing. This is # 59 in the series. Sorry for showing this so late.

It has the same handle as the M1859 & M1860 bayonets, but the blade is shorter and straight.
