I have two M1867 rolling block rifles that are in the original 12.17x42R rimfire chamberings.  I want to shoot these rifles, but do not want to alter the breech blocks that came in the rifles.  One has a Carl Gustafs receiver and the other a Remington receiver.  Can anyone direct me to a source for centerfire breech blocks or even spare rimfire breech blocks that I could get converted.

Thanks,  Vern

Hello Vern

You might have to buy a beat up sporter and sell the parts you do not need.

Good luck, John

Hi I do have one what I can sell. The case is not so siple that only change the block. You have to do the trimming work, they all are individuals.

Mine have been in the rifle and it is not necessarily work in yours. You may get big work to make the parts fitt let me know.

Should You find difficulties in adapting the breackblock this may be an alternative.

Gianluca,

I am pursuing the breech block, but dimensions may be a problem.  I am very interested in the cases with offset primers.  I have never seen those before.  I assume they are berdan primed?  If so, what is the primer diameter.  Do you know where cases like that can be obtained?  I don't plan on shooting the Swedish RB's in competition, so I really don't need too many of the cases.

Twenty would probably be enough.  Those are very nice looking bullets you have there!

Thank you,
Vern

Hello Sir,
these cases are machined from a solid bar of of brass. the primer is a .22 rf blank which pocket has been located offset so that it can be hit by the original firing pin.

Make a dummy fist and blank fire few time in order to see wherethe firing pin hits and so calculatye the offset of the pocket. A machinist will not have problem in making few cases. If You need the dimension of the pocket just let me know.

These round are actually 13.9x33 Wanzl, which case is taperes, for the swedish RB will be easier with a cilidric case.

regards
Gianluca
