Title: Original Kammerlader Patrone Question
Post by: IAC. on 27. October 2019 kl. 22:20:56
Hello Friends, On the drawing for the original "én rille" bullet cartridge, for the m1842 Kammerlader, the powder cartridge is shown attached to the rear of the bullet. If this is correct, how was it attached, or is the drawing wrong ? Should the paper be Around the bullet base?
Thank You,  IAC

The drawing is perhaps a bit unclear, but the paper was supposed to be tied to the groove.

It's not an M/1842, by the way. The M/1842 was a standard roundball cartridge. The pictured cartridge is from the trials in 1848–49. The Model 1849 cartridge was similar,  but the bullet was slightly different.
