If all goes well, I'm picking up one of these on thursday.  Can any of our Scandinavian members tell me a bit about these muskets?  It presents features which I find unique.

Did they always have a fixed rear sight on the breechplug?  It seems very advanced thinking for 1815.

The nicely curved buttplate is something not generally seen in standard infantry muskets.

The forward curving cock is radically different from the usual swan-neck or ring-neck cock and is someting I have only seen on high quality target/duelling pistols.

Photos will of course be forthcoming when I actually get it :-D

p.s I know our illustrious leader has a thread on this musket in the NO forum but jeg kan ikke lese norsk (if that is wrong, blame Google).
Give me iron, steel and wood!  Tupperware guns are for losers!
