Any help identifying this rifle would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You, John

It is probably a Norwegian civilian Kongsberg rifle, the crowned K reveals that. I don't know whether it is a mass produced version. If you see jæger justnæs or Trond online at the chat, they will probably be able to tell you what it is. What calibre is it? Have you shot it?
Hello Øyvind,
Thank you for the reply.
First I need to repair a small crack in the left side. Then I might try a few loads through it.

Hi,
I'm sort of rather late in answering, so sorry. this is a Norwegian Kongsberg produced rifle from as late as the early 1860's. As far as I know, they were produced for Det Frivillige Skyttervæsen and fairly few were made. I've had two of them through my more than 50 years of collecting, one converted to shotgun, however.
